This web page provides information on the basic domestic violence training available through UDVC. Two types of training are currently offered; web-based and live basic training, which together meet the minimum of 24 hours of pre-service domestic violence training required for an individual to conduct domestic violence treatment in a licensed outpatient treatment facility.

UDVC does not license individuals or agencies to provide domestic violence treatment, but does offer certificates of completion for all of our training's. Our Web Based Training also has CEU's (continuing education units) available for successful completion. Live Basic Domestic Violence Training

UDVC facilitates live basic domestic violence training monthly around the state of Utah. The course is 21.5 hours; these training hours are not CEU approved. The training features speakers on a broad variety of basic domestic violence subjects, including:

Web-based Basic Domestic Violence Training

Course Cost and Certification | Minimum Technical Requirements | Course Registration

UDVC offers a four-hour web-based training course titled “The Basics of Domestic Violence,” which is designed to explore the complex issue of domestic violence as it affects women, men, and children. Participants learn about power and control in relationships, the cycle of violence, barriers to leaving, and working with victims from diverse populations. This training is NASW approved for four (4) CEU hours.

Course Cost and Certificate of completion

This course is free to all participants. However, if you need a certificate of completion once you have finished the four-hour course, one is available for $20. For more information, contact Kimberlee Montoya at training@udvc.org or click here.

Minimum Technical Requirements

Before you begin the course, check your computer to ensure it meets the minimum technical requirements to run it error-free.

Access will be available to learners using computers with these minimum specifications:

§         256 colors

§         800 x 600 resolution

§         Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher , Safari 1.2 (for Mac users)

§         Windows Media Player 7.0 or higher (to view video components)

Course Registration

The course is available at www.udvctraining.org.

To register for the course and log on:

  1. Open www.udvctraining.org in your browser.
  2. Initiate your registration for the course by clicking “Register.”
  3. Provide your first and last name as well as your email address and other information in the fields provided.
  4. Choose your job title/agency and county from the drop-down menus.
    Please note that it is very important to fill out the registration completely and accurately to ensure your work on the course is properly recorded so you may receive a certificate.
  5. Click “Register.”
    The course will automatically issue you a user name and password for the course. Please print this page for your records as we do not have access to your user name and password; once you leave this screen we cannot look it up for you if you lose this information.
